This year, FuzzBench has been invited to participate in the SBFT'23 workshop in ICSE, a premier research conference in the field, which for the first time is hosting a fuzzing competition. During this competition, the FuzzBench platform will be used to evaluate state-of-the-art fuzzers submitted by researchers from around the globe on both code coverage and bug-finding metrics.
We believe these initiatives will help scale security testing efforts across the broader open source ecosystem. We hope to accelerate the integration of critical open source projects into OSS-Fuzz by providing stronger incentives to security researchers and open source maintainers. Combined with our involvement in fuzzing research, these efforts are making OSS-Fuzz an even more powerful tool, enabling users to find more bugs, and, more critically, find them before the bad guys do!
Fuzz Testing of Application ReliabilityClassic fuzz testing is a simple technique for feeding random input to applications.While random testing is a time-honored technique, our approachhas three characteristics that, when taken together,makes it somewhat different from other approaches.The input is random.We do not use any model of program behavior, application type, or systemdescription.This is sometimes calledblack box testing.In the command-line studies (1990, 1995, 2006, and 2020), the random input wasunstructured, simplyrandom ASCII character streams.For our X-Window study (1995), Windows NT study (2000), and Mac OS X study (2006),the random input included cases that used structured input, valid keyboard and mouseevents.Our reliability criteria is simple: if the application crashes or hangs, itis considerd to fail the test, otherwise it passes.This criteria allows the use of a simple test oracle.Note that the application does not have to respond in a sensible manner to theinput, and it can even quietly exit.As a result of the first two characteristics, classicfuzz testing can be automated to a high degree and resultscan be compared across applications, operatingsystems, and vendors.We encourage your feedback and comments.
Fuzz testing is a well-known technique for uncovering programming errors in software. Many of these detectable errors, like buffer overflow, can have serious security implications. Google has found thousands of security vulnerabilities and stability bugs by deploying guided in-process fuzzing of Chrome components, and we now want to share that service with the open source community.
In cooperation with the Core Infrastructure Initiative and the OpenSSF, OSS-Fuzz aims to make common open source software more secure and stable by combining modern fuzzing techniques with scalable, distributed execution. Projects that do not qualify for OSS-Fuzz (e.g. closed source) can run their own instances of ClusterFuzz or ClusterFuzzLite.
This documentation describes how to use OSS-Fuzz service for your open source project. To learn more about fuzzing in general, we recommend reading libFuzzer tutorial and the other docs in google/fuzzing repository. These and some other resources are listed on the useful links page.

In the quest to make the Missionary Fuzz as versatile as possible, we have added pre and post gain EQ options. The Bass knob is before the gain section allowing you to dial in how much bass enters the circuit. All the way down is perfect for mid-forward overdrive, while turning it clockwise adds huge low end saturation and fuzz. After the gain section, comes the Body control. This is a midrange filter that can go from scooped into oblivion, to totally flat.
